Benetti’s Oasis 135 Superyacht Is The Only Way To Sail The Seas

Published

Benetti Oasis 135' Yacht Concept

If you recently came into a small fortune and are looking to splurge on something cool, I have got just the thing for you. Feast your eyes on the Benetti Oasis 135′ yacht concept. Designed in collaboration with London-based RWD, this bespoke yacht demonstrates the innovative usage of spaces on board, with a wide open aft deck for an emphasis on exterior living, along with a unique deck with a 66-square-foot pool.

Other design ideas include an origami-like layout with side bulwarks and a rear platform that folds up to keep the cockpit watertight. It has a sundeck and open area on the deck below, as well as a social area in the foredeck, offering an “oasis” on every level. Hence the name.

This is a floating party barge. A mansion away from your real mansion.

Inside, a “day” area replaces the typical main saloon with comfy lounges near large windows and a wet bar with seats. That wet bar can even double as a dining suite. If that’s not enough, there’s also a dedicated yoga and wellness spa, with its own opening balcony.

Buyers can choose from two interior designs: One that looks more traditional and the other with a sportier feel for a younger clientele. Light-colored leather and rosewood accents are included regardless of which version you choose.

The owner’s suite (where all the magic happens) has a large bedroom with a private balcony and a full en-suite bathroom, while the lower deck has two VIP staterooms and two cabins with twin berths. The crew’s quarters are separate and forward, and house up to nine staff, because someone has to pilot this beast.. and keep that champagne glass filled.

As for speed, the Oasis should cruise at 14.5 knots, with a top speed of 15 knots. At 11 knots, the yacht should have a range of about 4,000 nautical miles. Oh, and the Oasis’s garage can house a 21-foot ender and two jet skis. Because bringing along some accessories is a must.

So what do you say, who’s ready to hit the open seas?

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Is The Most Luxurious SUV You’ve Ever Seen

Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV

After years of anticipation, Rolls-Royce finally took the wraps off its ultra-luxury SUV today in London, revealing to the world the Rolls-Royce Cullinan in all of its glory.

Now as you might imagine, the notion of a Rolls-Royce SUV caused quite a stir among purists, who believed that the world’s leading super-luxury brand should stick with cars. But according to Rolls-Royce, their customers were asking for a car that would allow them to “go everywhere in luxury, effortlessly and without compromise, conquering the most challenging terrain to enjoy life’s most enriching experiences, wherever they may be.”

With the super-luxury lifestyle evolving, so did Rolls-Royce, leading to the development of a vehicle that offers uncompromised luxury wherever they dare to venture. Cullinan is that car.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan, named for a diamond that’s part of the British crown jewels, follows in the footsteps of the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus, offering up an ultra-luxe SUV that can satisfy the adventurous urges of their clients.

Under the hood, there’s a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 563 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque to an all-new, all-wheel drive, all-wheel steer system. This engine has been reworked to make the Cullinan comfortable even while it’s off-roading.

A “Magic Carpet Ride” air suspension system keeps things civilized in the cabin when you’re off the beaten path, because you wouldn’t want a passenger to spill their glass of champagne.

Naturally, being a Rolls-Royce, the interior is bespoke and fit for a king, with only the finest leathers and appointments. But perhaps the most interesting feature is the pair of jump seats that come out of the trunk, presumably so you can sit while falconing in the desert.

The 2019 Rolls-Royce Cullinan is expected to go on sale late this year, with a starting price of around $325,000. Of course, one you start adding bespoke features and customization options, that price could go north of half a million in a hurry.

Land Rover Celebrates 70th Anniversary With 400HP Defender Works V8

Published

Land Rover Defender Works V8

If you’ve always longed for an iconic Land Rover Defender, you are in luck, as Land Rover is reviving the old classic to celebrate the brand’s 70th anniversary. Even better, they have given the old off-roader more power, with a 5.0-liter V8 that puts out 400 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. That’s a considerable bump in power from the last Defender, which put out a paltry 182 horsepower.

The Defender Works V8 sprints from 0-60 mph in just 5.6 seconds, with a top speed of 106 mph. Any faster than that, and it’d probably get pretty hairy, because as you can see, these cars aren’t exactly aerodynamic..

Rounding out the package is an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission with sport mode, uprated brakes and handling kit (springs, dampers and anti-roll bars), plus 18-inch diamond-turned Sawtooth alloy wheels and 265/65 R18 all-terrain tires. Machined aluminum door handles, fuel filler cap and Defender lettering give a little bit of bling, while LED headlights help you see better.

“The idea of reintroducing a V8 Defender was something we were discussing as far back as 2014, when we were still building the Defender in Solihull. We knew the demand was there for a powerful and fast Defender; the Land Rover authenticity is the ultimate finishing touch for discerning clients buying these collector’s edition Defenders,” said Tim Hannig, Jaguar Land Rover Classic Director.

Land Rover Defender Works V8

Perhaps most interesting is that the Defender Works V8 starts out as an existing Defender, with 150 vehicles specifically selected to get re-engineered by Land Rover Classic. These vehicles have fewer than 20,000 miles and were built between 2012 and 2016.

Sadly, the Land Rover Defender Works V8 won’t be sold in the United States. 🙁

Pricing for the Defender Works V8 starts from £150,000 (roughly $208,000). Only 150 of these beauties are being built, so if you want one, you’ll have to act quickly.

Lamborghini’s New Urus ‘Super SUV’ Packs 650 HP, Does 0-60 In 3.6 Seconds

Published

on

After years of speculation, Lamborghini has finally unveiled their performance SUV, the Lamborghini Urus. The “first Super Sports Utility Vehicle” creates a new niche in the luxury segment with benchmarking power, performance and driving dynamics, unparalleled design, luxury and daily usability.

The Italian manufacturer flirted with the concept of an SUV once before with the militaristic LM002, which was a commercial disaster, only selling 300 vehicles. This time around, Lamborghini is taking a more measured approach, following the success of the Bentley Bentayga with a version of their own, using the same platform, with a body that looks like a Huracan on steroids.

Powering the Lamborghini Urus is a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that puts out 650 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a 0-62 MPH time of just 3.6 seconds, and 0-124 MPH in 12.8 seconds. That’s one fast SUV, especially given it’s considerable weight of 4,850 pounds!

The power is routed to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, with a torque converter used to ensure maximum engine response, and active torque vectoring to ensure the best possible traction should you decide to go off-roading with it. (Though who are we kidding, most of these will never see any dirt in their lifetime)

While reactions to the exterior styling of the Urus have been mixed at best, I have no doubt that Lamborghini will sell every one they produce, as SUVs are red-hot right now, and the Urus gives you bragging rights about owning the fastest production SUV on the planet. It’s a smart business decision by Lamborghini, and with a starting price of $200,000, it’s priced competitively to boot.

The Lamborghini Urus is slated to hit dealerships in Spring 2018, so if you want one, you should probably get your order in now, before it’s too late.

Lamborghini Urus Specifications

  • Engine: 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8
  • Horsepower: 650 horsepower
  • Torque: 627 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-62: 3.5 seconds
  • Weight: 4,850 pounds
  • Top Speed: 189.5 MPH
  • Price: $200,000
