They say everything tastes better with bacon. So when I learned about Mo’s Bacon Chocolate Chip Pancakes Mix from Vosges, I just had to try them out!
“Light, airy pancakes with deep milk chocolate, hickory smoked uncured bacon and alderwood smoked salt” – I was getting hungry just reading the back of the box.
A box of Mo’s Bacon Chocolate Chip Pancakes Mix will set you back $12, far more expensive than your average box of Aunt Jemima. But trust me: It’s worth every penny!
The buttermilk pancakes are spotted with chunks of Mo’s Bacon Bar, that combines applewood smoked bacon and Alder sea salt with deep milk chocolate. In a word – Yum! It’s like having breakfast and dessert all rolled into one.
Preparing these pancakes takes a bit more work than a traditional pancake mix, but trust me when I tell you it’s worth the extra effort. Before getting started, you’ll need 2 eggs, 3 cups of buttermilk, and 2 oz of unsalted butter. Follow the enclosed directions, and you’re on your way to breakfast nirvana.
At the end of the day, I was really impressed with Mo’s Bacon Chocolate Chip Pancakes Mix. It brought together three of my favorite things in one great tasting dish. Some have said that the bacon is overwhelmed by all the other flavors in the pancakes, but I didn’t feel that way at all.
And of course, if you want more of that bacon flavor, just grease the griddle with bacon fat instead of butter and you’ll be good to go!
