Review: The Dearborn Inn

Retreat to an urban oasis spanning 23 lush acres at The Dearborn Inn, A Marriott Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan. Offering an ideal location near downtown Detroit and the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, the Inn was built in 1931 on the grounds of Ford Motor Company.

In a setting reminiscent of an American inn, this Dearborn, Michigan hotel boasts a multi-million dollar renovation and features the service expected at a Marriott. A unique array of accommodations includes the Main Inn, two Colonial lodges and five Colonial guest homes.

Amenities include on-site fitness center, outdoor swimming pool and several nearby golf courses offering ample leisure activity close to major corporations and cultural sites such as The Henry Ford. Highlighted by more than 17,000 sq ft of flexible event space, this historic hotel in Dearborn, MI easily hosts social affairs, intimate weddings or large business events.

This is such a unique hotel, don’t let the Marriott name make you think otherwise! This hotel is a blast from the past, but with the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay.

You can’t forget that you’re on the Ford grounds, as Ford history is all around you with vintage pictures of old Ford cars, Ford airplanes, and even Ford zeppelins in the rooms and down the halls. I found myself often stopping in the hallways to look at the amazing pictures. Where else can you find pictures of a Ford Model T assembly line in 1927?

The room itself was great. The beds were comfy, the room was spacious, and the bathroom was much bigger than I expected. The only issue I had was with the wifi Internet. It was SLOW, and would frequently disconnect you. I talked to dozens of other guests who dealt with the same problem. As I was here for a media event, it was tough getting work done with spotty Internet access, but I made do the best that I could.
