Review: The Nines Hotel in Portland OR

Published

on

On a recent business trip to Portland, I stayed at the Nines hotel.

Located in downtown Portland, the Nines is an upscale boutique hotel that’s part of Starwood Hotels. Poised in the heart of the city center at the top of one of Portland’s most beloved landmarks, the stately Meier & Frank Building, the Nines Hotel honors the structure’s storied past, both in its striking decor and impeccable service.

Ideally located next to Pioneer Square and the central business district in one of the country’s premier walking cities, the Nines is the perfect spot for launching all of your adventures. Browse nearby boutiques, dine in the trendy Pearl District, or use the MAX light rail to explore the beautiful gardens, museum grounds, and chic neighborhoods that pepper the city.

A magnificent collection of contemporary art featuring works by renowned local artists graces each of the 331 luxurious guestrooms, including 13 suites. Plush bedding, 42-inch HDTVs and twice-daily maid service completes the picture of approachable elegance.

The rooms are stunningly chic, with nods to the building’s fashionable history (dark woods, sleek glass, polished metal light fixtures, dangling strands of leaded crystal against the curtains, tufted white leather headboards, and a turquoise-velvet récamier positioned in front of large windows).

At the end of the day, sink into a king or double-sized Luxury Collection bed, featuring 350 thread count sheets, a plush duvet and down pillows. All rooms include flat screen cable televisions, video-game consoles, mini-bars, twice daily maid service, premier bedding, and turndown services.

Book a room at the Nines, and you’ll see why people have given it such high marks on sites like TripAdvisor and Yelp!
