What I’m Listening To – 11/27/12

I’m back with some new tunes that are sure to get your toes tapping and put a smile on your face.. Give ’em a listen, and as always, let me know what you think!

Locomondo – Better Listen

Locomondo is 7-member ska-reggae band from Greece. Yes, you read that right, Greece! The band fuses Reggae, Ska and Caribbean sounds with Greek traditional musical elements. You might think those styles of music wouldn’t go together, but they really do! Strangely enough, I heard this song playing in a restaurant I was at, and Shazam was actually able to ID it.

Flo Rida – I Cry

Last year, I featured Bingo Players – Cry (Just A Little), a song that contained samples from “Piano in the Dark” by Brenda Russell. Now Flo Rida has sampled Bingo Players’ song, and the results are pretty sick! When Flo first hit the scene, I thought he was goign to be another one-hit wonder. But he continues to release hit after hit!

Paper Route – You And I

Paper Route is an Indie rock band from Nashville that formed back in 2004. And while they had little glimpses of success along the way, it’s their latest album The Peace of Wild Things that’s going to make them a household name. While the whole album is great, it’s You And I that convinced me to give them a listen.

That’s all for now.. If you’ve got any tunes that you think I’d like, send me an e-mail!
