There’s been a ton of speculation about Lamborghini’s successor to the Murcielago, and we’ve finally got all the answers. (And a whole bunch of videos!)
The official name is the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, and we got a chance to see it in the flesh at the Geneva Motor Show. But with everything else going on at the time, and all of the other coverage the car was already getting, we neglected to do a piece on the car.
So what are the specs on the Aventador? The car is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 engine that puts out 691 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque. We already knew it will use a 7-speed ISR single clutch F1-styled transmission and send power to all four wheels. The Aventador will do 0–62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 217 mph. The car weighs 3,472lbs (200lbs less than the Murcielago) with a 43/57 front/rear weight distribution. The Aventador is 188.18” long with a wheelbase of 106.29”, 79.92” wide and 44.72” high.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is estimated to cost around $370k. (And rumor has it that it’s already sold out!)
But pictures can only say so much – So feast your eyes on these videos, and enjoy the ride!
Below is a very short, 9 second, video clip of the Lamborghini Aventador blasting by at a race track. The sound that comes out of the car is purely intoxicating!
