Bitcasa Infinite Drive

Imagine being able to store, instantly access, and share everything you’ve ever owned – every picture, every movie, every document, every song – infinitely, without the worry of running out of space on your computer, phone, or tablet. That’s the motivation behind Bitcasa’s Infinite Drive.

Bitcasa simplifies cloud storage with the Infinite Drive, which works like a magic external hard drive that never crashes or runs out of space. The possibilities with Bitcasa Infinite Drive are… infinite!

With Bitcasa, users no longer need to worry about their data when they upgrade their laptop, lose a phone, or drop their external hard drive. Meanwhile, other cloud solutions are only focused on the sync problem, and each has limits on space, file size, security, and cost per gigabyte. Bitcasa is the only infinite storage solution that frees your data and solves your capacity problem.

Here’s a little video that explains how it works:

Worried about security? Don’t be. Bitcasa’s client-side AES-256 encryption ensures end-to-end privacy. So no one but you can see your files, not even Bitcasa employees!

Seriously, once you start using Bitcasa Infinite Drive, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. You can share large videos with family and friends, automatically backup photos you took with your iOS or Android phone, instantly access files from “home” on your tablet, phone, or laptop. Heck, you can even backup your entire hard drive.

We have a computer that needs to be wiped clean and reinstalled, but there’s over 300GB worth of data that needs to be backed up first. With no other way to back up the data, I thought I’d have to buy an external hard drive for $100 or more, just so I could back everythign up. But with Bitcasa Infinite Drive, I’ll be able to backup the important data “to the cloud”, do my thing, and then pull down the data from Bitcasa. The service will pay for itself right there!

And as a frequent traveler, being able to access my files on-the-go with no forethought will be HUGE. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck in an airport and wished I had access some files sitting on my desktop at work. Bitcasa solves that problem once and for all.

I think Bitcasa’s going to a real game-changer, changing the way people look at storage forever!

Try it for yourself, and let us know what you think of the service.

Zander, It looks like you haven’t actually tried using Bitcasa. If you actually tried to backup your 300GB drive, then you wouldn’t be able to write a review until sometime in 2014,and even then your review would only be based on the upload, you would still be waiting for the download to complete.

Zander, you do realise, I hope, that bitcasa sets up a cache for the uploads. The first time I tried uploading I was very impressed with the speed, but actually what you see is the speed of the files being copied to the cache! The actual uploads are very slow.

It looks like a good solution. But for backups it’s always better to use an offline solution. Another choice could be use a VPS for your own backups (under 10 dollars you can get a 500GB VPS with a good speed)
