Welcome back to another episode of What I’m Listening To! This week, I fell back into my old dance/electronica ways.
Justice – Civilization
Have you seen the latest “Adidas Is In All” commercials? That song has been haunting me for weeks, so I finally used Shazam to find out if it was a real song, or just something cooked up for the commercial. Turns out it’s a real song from a band from Paris called Justice. Judging by the lack of information about them, I’m guessing they’re a fairly new band.
This commercial has put them on the map in a big way – Their Facebook page is only a month old, and they’ve already got over 800K fans! The intro is a bit weird, but skip to 1:05 for the awesomeness. 🙂
La Roux – Bulletproof (Nacey Remix ft. Matt Hemerlein)
Electro-dancehall duo Major Lazer partnered with English synthpop outfit La Roux for the creation of the Lazerproof mixtape. Lazerproof plays on both groups’ styles and the result is a project that is only vaguely recognizable as the sum of its parts — ska, dubstep, hip-hop and pop stars aligning to create a synth-Britania meets dubstep dancehall gem. The 14-track tape boasts guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Drake, Gyptian, Rusko and Amanda Blank add the infamous Mad Decent touch.
La Roux – Bulletproof (Foamo Dubstep Remix)
Foamo released their Dubstep Remix of Bulletproof, which turned out pretty sick if you ask me. Skip to 0:55 for the fun to begin. My favorite comment from YouTube:
Yeah, that about says it all. 🙂
Neako – Three Fingers To The Sun
This track comes from Neako’s “Junk Food” mixtape, and the track heavily samples Lisztomania by Phoenix. Sick song that I’ve had on my iPod for awhile now, heard it again yesterday and knew it had to make this week’s list. Enjoy!
