Lynx’s 2027 Snowmobile Lineup Is Here, And It Doesn’t Disappoint
If you love carving through hard-packed trails, charging deep powder, or putting a sled to work hauling gear through the frozen north, BRP’s Lynx brand just unveiled their 2027 lineup, and it deserves your full attention.
The new Lynx slate brings four major pillars of Nordic performance: a legendary anniversary edition, a class-leading new engine, the most capable deep-snow machine Lynx has ever built, and a next-generation utility lineup that means serious business.
The Lynx Rave RE Turns 20, and It’s Still Setting the Pace
Back in 2007, the Lynx Rave RE didn’t just show up to the trail segment, it blew the doors off it. It brought legitimate race suspension technology to everyday riders at a time when a “sport sled” mostly meant race-inspired looks with stock components underneath. For 2027, Lynx is honoring that legacy with a special-edition model that pays tribute to the machine that rewrote the rulebook.
The Lynx Rave RE 20th Anniversary Edition keeps the hardware that made the original famous: the legendary PPS³ rear suspension and a race-proven KYB shock package that set the industry benchmark. The sport-calibrated valving is tuned specifically for aggressive riders on demanding terrain — because as Lynx puts it, even the best shocks are worthless without the right calibration.
Two track options keep things interesting. North American riders get the 3500/137-inch setup for all-out speed and explosive corner exits. European riders also get access to a 3300/129-inch version that’s built for razor-sharp agility on tight, technical trails, though that one stays on the continent for whatever reason.
But that’s not all. The real visual draw is the anniversary graphics package: retro colors and styling that nod directly to the original 2007 model. If you were riding back then, you’ll feel it. If you weren’t, you’ll wish you had been.
New Rotax 600RR E-TEC Engine: 130 HP and a Handful of Industry Firsts
Lynx is rolling out a brand-new engine for 2027, and it’s not just an incremental bump. The Rotax 600RR E-TEC puts out a whopping 130 horsepower (the most powerful in its class) and pairs that with race-proven booster injectors that deliver 20% faster throttle response and instantaneous acceleration. A redesigned intake and exhaust system supports the power gains with better airflow throughout.
The efficiency of this engine is just as compelling. Oil consumption drops by 20%, and Lynx recommends the new XPS E-TEC MAX formula oil for riders who want to maximize engine life. But perhaps the most surprising feature is what’s happening on the modes front.
The 600RR introduces industry-first Sport and Eco modes on a 2-stroke engine. Eco Mode cuts fuel consumption by 5% and responds smartly to throttle demand — it’ll give you more power when you ask for it, then automatically return to Eco when you back off. It’s a surprisingly sophisticated system for a 2-stroke, and one that makes long days in the saddle a little more economical.
Lynx also debuts what they’re calling industry-first Silent-Stop technology on this engine, allowing easy conversation or listening when engaged, and it can be switched on and off as desired. It’s a small quality-of-life feature that’ll make a big difference on group rides.
The Shredder RE Gets Meaner, Lighter, and More Fun for Deep Snow
Lynx already made waves with the Shredder RE in 2026. For 2027, they went back in and cut weight, added traction, and dialed up the fun factor even further. The result is the most agile and unhinged Shredder they’ve ever produced.
The headline weight reduction is up to 12 lbs overall, thanks to targeted reductions in rotating mass and tunnel components plus a narrower 34-inch ski-stance that makes it even more agile. Ride neutral. Ride longer. Ride terrain that others avoid. The new Shredder RE takes less effort to hold a line and keeps maximum grip when the mountain challenges you.
The bigger story is the new 3700/147-inch track with an OEM-first 3-inch profile, which saves 2 lbs and spins up faster than anything Lynx has used before. The result? A Shredder that reacts instantly, climbs harder, and feels like it lost a bad habit. The high power with a short, grippy, aggressive track puts constant laughter inside the helmet.
A narrower 34-inch ski-stance, combined with the LFS-DS front suspension and last year’s tunnel updates, tightens up handling in steep, technical terrain without sacrificing the fun. The bottom line on the Shredder RE: it’s lighter, grippier, and more responsive than ever. Exactly what deep-snow riders have been asking for.
The Pro Utility Lineup Gets a Full Refresh — Work Sleds That Mean Business
For riders who put their snowmobiles to work, Lynx is bringing major updates to the Ranger PRO series for 2027. The next-generation lineup is built on the new Radien² platform and brings a sharper look, better ergonomics, and serious pro-grade capability to the table.
Design highlights on the Rangers include 4-module premium LED headlights for long polar nights, updated ergonomics for easier movement and more confident handling, and a clever flippable snow flap that reduces drag in deep snow and prevents the flap from getting trapped under the track when you’re reversing or unloading.
Across the lineup, you’ll find arched A-arms for better ground clearance in deep snow, a heavy-duty front bumper for demanding work, and a heated seat for all-weather professionalism. The 59 and 69 Ranger PRO models also get a 2-speed gearbox for serious towing and pulling power.
At the top of the stack, the 69 Ranger PRO gets a huge power upgrade with the 180 horsepower 900 ACE Turbo R engine (the hero of super-duty utility), with the 130 HP 900 ACE Turbo also available as an option. Meanwhile, the 49 Ranger PRO now offers the new Rotax 600RR E-TEC, bringing all of that engine’s efficiency and performance gains to the utility segment. The 850 E-TEC Rotax remains an option as well for those who prefer it.
Bottom Line: Lynx Is Bringing Its A-Game for 2027
Whether you’re a trail rider, a powder hound, or a working professional who needs a sled that’ll put in as many hours as you do, Lynx’s 2027 lineup has something worth getting excited about.
The 20th anniversary edition Rave RE is a sentimental and performance-packed nod to one of snowmobiling’s most influential machines. The Rotax 600RR E-TEC is genuinely innovative. The Shredder RE is more capable and more fun than ever. And the Ranger PRO lineup is ready for whatever the harshest winters can throw at it.
