LG Wallpaper TV Returns: 9mm Thin, Zero Wires, Maximum Performance
Remember when LG first showed off a TV so thin it looked like it was painted on the wall? That was 2017, and it was pretty mind-blowing. Now they’re back with the LG OLED evo W6, and they have made it even better. This time around, the Wallpaper TV isn’t just impossibly thin at 9mm, it’s completely wireless. No HDMI cables snaking down your wall, no visible connections at all. Just pure, uninterrupted screen that blends into your space like actual art.
The Design: Impossibly Thin and Truly Wireless
The standout feature here is the thickness, or lack thereof. At just 9mm, the W6 is ridiculously slim, achieved through a complete re-engineering of the TV’s internal architecture. Every component has been meticulously miniaturized to maintain structural integrity while keeping that razor-thin profile.
But here’s where it gets even better: LG’s True Wireless technology means you can mount this thing anywhere in your room without worrying about cable management. All your inputs live on a separate Zero Connect Box that can be placed up to 30 feet away from the TV. No visible wires, no compromises on placement. The improved wall mount ensures the screen sits flush against the wall from edge to edge, living up to its Wallpaper name.
Picture Quality: Brighter and Better Than Ever
LG isn’t just bringing back an old design – they’re pushing OLED technology forward with their new Hyper Radiant Color Technology. The W6 achieves brightness levels up to 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLEDs thanks to Brightness Booster Ultra. That’s a massive jump that makes HDR content really pop.
The screen also features the lowest reflectance among LG TVs, earning the industry-first Reflection Free Premium certification from Intertek. Translation: you can watch during the day without dealing with annoying glare, while still getting those perfect blacks and colors OLED is known for.
Powering all this is LG’s new α11 AI Processor Gen3, which features a Neural Processing Unit that’s 5.6 times more powerful than its predecessor. The new Dual AI Engine runs parallel algorithms to reduce noise while preserving natural texture, something previous processors struggled with. You get a cleaner image without the artificial over-sharpening that can make content look processed.
Gaming Performance That Doesn’t Disappoint
If you’re a gamer, LG hasn’t forgotten about you. The W6 supports a 4K 165Hz refresh rate and is compatible with both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium for smooth, tear-free gameplay. Add in a 0.1ms pixel response time and Auto Low Latency Mode, and you’ve got a display that can keep up with even the most demanding titles.
Smart Features and Personalization
The webOS platform gets some notable upgrades this year. Voice ID technology recognizes who’s speaking and automatically switches to their personalized home screen with their own widgets and apps. No more scrolling through someone else’s Netflix recommendations.
LG has also integrated Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot for enhanced voice control and AI assistance. The new AI Concierge can help you explore content-related information without interrupting your viewing, and the “In This Scene” feature provides cast details and related content on demand. All of this is protected by LG Shield, which earned a CES 2026 Innovation Award for its advanced encryption and security measures.
The Bottom Line
“The Wallpaper TV represents the beautiful convergence of our True Wireless leadership, form factor innovation, and 13 years of OLED mastery,” said Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “LG continues to raise the bar for OLED TVs, setting the standard for what’s next.”
This is LG’s 13th consecutive year leading the OLED market, and the W6 shows that they’re not resting on their laurels. The combination of breakthrough wireless technology, extreme thinness, and top-tier picture quality makes this one of the most compelling TVs at CES 2026.
Pricing and availability for the LG OLED evo W6 haven’t been announced yet, but expect this flagship model to command a premium price when it hits the market.
