Iconic Western-Themed Chain Roy Rogers Opens In Cherry Hill Next Week
If you grew up in the ’80s or ’90s, chances are you’ve got a soft spot for Roy Rogers. The roast beef. The burgers. The legendary Fixin’s Bar. Now, after decades of being MIA from the South Jersey and Philly fast food scene, the iconic Western-themed chain is making its big comeback, with Roy Rogers officially opening a new location in Cherry Hill, NJ on June 25th.
Located at 614 Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill (the old PDQ location), this new spot is more than just a nostalgia trip. It’s the first Roy Rogers to open in the South Jersey and Philly market since the 1990s, and it’s aiming to make a strong first impression.
Whether you’re craving a legit burger, some hand-breaded chicken, or their iconic roast beef, the brand’s bringing the goods. Known as the “Triple Threat,” their core staples include USDA choice top round roast beef, hand-breaded fresh-fried chicken and tenders, and their much-loved burgers. And yes, the Fixin’s Bar is back in full force, so you can load up with fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, onions, pickles, and more just the way you like it.
“The feedback from the Cherry Hill community since we announced this new restaurant has been overwhelmingly positive, and we have been working hard to make this opening a grand success,” says Jim Plamondon, co-president of Roy Rogers Restaurants. “We are excited to make this long-anticipated return, and Cherry Hill allows us to serve a growing, diverse community and introduce a new generation to the quality and variety that makes Roy Rogers a cut above.”
Now this isn’t some basic fast-food joint slapped together overnight. The newly rebuilt 3,300-square-foot restaurant features a drive-thru (the only burger drive-thru on Haddonfield Road), along with expanded indoor and outdoor seating. It’s right in the middle of one of the area’s biggest shopping hubs—surrounded by a massive three million square feet of retail—and just 10 minutes from Center City Philly. Whether you’re commuting, shopping, or just need a post-game bite with the guys, it’s designed for convenience.
The grand opening ceremony is happening Wednesday, June 25 at 10am, with remarks from co-owners Jim and Pete Plamondon alongside Cherry Hill Mayor David Fleisher. There’ll be a flag-raising by JROTC Cadets from Cherry Hill High School West, the National Anthem performed by local singer Debra Janove, and a charitable donation to the Cherry Hill Public Library. Then comes the ribbon cutting, and the restaurant officially opens its doors at 10:30am.
Whether you’re rediscovering the brand or trying it for the first time, Roy Rogers Cherry Hill is lining up to be a legit fast-food destination. Classic comfort food, built-your-way, and a brand that delivers quality food? That’s something we can totally get behind.
