MONOPOLY Game is back at McDonald's

If you grew up peeling game pieces off your fry boxes and dreaming about Park Place riches, get ready for a hit of nostalgia with a side of fries. For the first time in nearly a decade, the iconic MONOPOLY Game at McDonald’s is officially back in the U.S. starting October 6, and this time it’s bigger, better, and more digital than ever.

Fans will still get that satisfying peel from select menu items, but now there’s an added layer of gameplay thanks to the McDonald’s app. In addition to traditional game pieces, ordering through the app can unlock digital pieces, giving players two ways to win everything from free food to a cool $1 million cash prize. As McDonald’s puts it, “two chances to win are always better than one.”

A Classic With A Modern Upgrade

The MONOPOLY Game has long been one of the Golden Arches’ most beloved promotions, and it’s clear fans have been eager for its return.

“Our fans have been clamoring for the return of MONOPOLY at McDonald’s, and we’re thrilled to bring it back with a modern, digital spin,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, Senior VP, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of McDonald’s USA. “This game is a core memory for so many customers, and we’re excited those memories can now be shared across generations.”

The game is just as you remember: order select items, collect property pieces, and complete sets for big rewards. But this year’s version also rewards you with a Bonus Play in the app for every game piece you collect, giving you a second shot at instant wins and major prizes.

How To Play

MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's - How To Play

Getting in on the fun is simple and straightforward:

  • Register: Download the McDonald’s app, opt into Rewards, and register for the game. If you pre-register between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5, you’ll score 500 bonus MyMcDonald’s Rewards points before the game even starts.
  • Order Your Favorites: Beginning Oct. 6, order eligible items to earn physical or digital game pieces. Physical pieces will appear on packaging (like large fry boxes), while digital ones show up right in the app when you order through it.
  • Peel & Play: Peel your physical pieces and scan them in the app, or “peel” digital ones virtually. Either way, you could instantly win or collect property pieces toward larger prizes.
  • Double Your Chances: Every piece you collect unlocks a Bonus Play — another shot at winning even more prizes through Nov. 2.

What You Can Win

This year’s prize pool is loaded. There are more than 30 eligible menu items across breakfast, lunch, and dinner – from classics like the Quarter Pounder with Cheese and Egg McMuffin to those always-irresistible large fries. And the prizes? They’re as over-the-top as you might hope.

  • Grand Prizes: Collect properties to compete for rewards like 1 million American Airlines AAdvantage miles, a $50,000 MONOPOLY GO! vacation, or even a $10,000 Lowe’s shopping spree.
  • Bonus Play Prizes: A second chance could score you a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, exclusive experiences from The Coca-Cola Company, or that coveted $1 million cash prize.
  • Instant Wins: Plenty of free food is also up for grabs, from Double Cheeseburgers and Snack Wraps to Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuits.

Whether you’re in it for the nostalgia, the free food, or the shot at serious money, this year’s MONOPOLY Game is shaping up to be the most exciting version yet. So download the app, order your go-to combo, and get ready to peel, collect, and play starting October 6. Because as McDonald’s reminds us, “Winning never tasted this good.”
