Starting October 24, 2025, the discount carrier is rolling out free unlimited inflight WiFi to all Rapid Rewards Members, powered by T-Mobile. Whether you’re checking emails, catching up on Netflix, or scrolling social media, you can now stay connected from takeoff to landing without spending a dime!

A Game-Changing Partnership for Travelers

This marks the first-ever collaboration between Southwest Airlines and T-Mobile, two brands known for prioritizing their customers and keeping them connected. And together, they’re transforming the inflight experience for millions of travelers.

With a fleet of more than 800 aircraft, Southwest will soon become the largest U.S. airline offering free WiFi on every flight. And the best part is that this perk isn’t limited to T-Mobile subscribers. All you need is a Rapid Rewards account (their frequent flyer program), which is free to join before or during your flight.

No Strings Attached, Just Seamless Connectivity

T-Mobile has been a leader in providing free inflight connectivity since 2014. Now, this partnership extends that benefit to every Southwest traveler who’s part of the airline’s loyalty program.

The system has already been tested across Southwest’s fleet, earning high satisfaction scores from passengers. That said, the airline says it will continue investing in WiFi reliability and performance, ensuring that streaming, video calls, and browsing are as smooth as cruising at 35,000 feet.

To access the free WiFi, simply log in with your Rapid Rewards account once onboard. Not a member yet? You can sign up before your flight (or even while inflight) and start browsing right away.

This move comes as Southwest is making broader changes to enhance the travel experience. Alongside the new WiFi perk, the airline is preparing to introduce assigned seating for the first time in 2026, as well as checked bag fees and new fare tiers.

For frequent fliers, the addition of free WiFi is a welcome boost that makes Southwest flights even more appealing for both work and leisure travelers.
