Cadillac is proving that EVs can be both fun and exciting, with the introduction of the all-new 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V. This all-electric performance SUV joins the fifth generation of the brand’s iconic V-Series lineup, bringing a fresh mix of sporty design, cutting-edge tech, and serious power to the table as the brand charges full speed ahead with its electric future.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Cadillac’s performance pedigree or you’re looking to level up to a premium electric vehicle with some personality, the OPTIQ-V is definitely worth a look.

Big Power, Bold Numbers

Under the hood (or rather, under the floor), Cadillac estimates the OPTIQ-V delivers 519HP and 650 lb-ft of torque in its top “Velocity Max” mode. That translates to a 0-60 time of just 3.5 seconds, putting this EV SUV squarely in performance territory. That’s considerably more power than the base OPTIQ, which puts out a mere 300 horsepower.

“V-Series continues to help forge Cadillac’s performance legacy by providing customers an exhilarating driving experience,” said John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac. “OPTIQ-V will be a significant addition […] bringing in new customers to the brand and emphasizing Cadillac’s global impact.”

Power is routed through a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, paired with an 85-kWh battery that offers an estimated 275 miles of range.

V-Series Handling Meets EV Precision

This isn’t just a straight-line monster. The OPTIQ-V was tuned for balance, agility, and corner-hugging fun, developed for those drivers that love to drive and push their vehicle to its limits.

“With Cadillac’s signature isolated precision ride and handling characteristic, tighter steering, enhanced suspension and summer-only tires, our team delivered a unique package that makes OPTIQ-V a fun, nimble drive that’s quicker when cornering,” said John Cockburn, chief engineer.

Other performance perks include:

  • V-Mode, a customizable drive mode you can access with a steering wheel button or via the massive 33-inch LED screen.
  • Launch Control, perfect for impressive stoplight takeoffs.
  • Competitive Mode, which sharpens handling and traction control.
  • Brembo performance front brakes are standard, with available red or blue calipers and accented with the V-Series logo.
  • Standard Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driving tech (includes 3 years of OnStar).

Design That Shows It Means Business

From the outside, the OPTIQ-V keeps things bold but refined. The front fascia gets a makeover with gloss black trim, V-Series mesh, and a distinctive splitter. Available carbon fiber accents add an extra layer of performance appeal, including a rear diffuser and spoiler.

Other visual highlights include:

  • 21-inch satin graphite alloy wheels with optional dark sport finishes.
  • Low-profile summer or all-season tires.
  • Unique V-Series badging, from the grille to the liftgate.
  • An available black-painted roof and panoramic fixed glass roof.
  • Two new limited-edition paint colors: Magnus Metal Frost (a matte metallic gray) and Deep Ocean Tintcoat.

A Cabin That Mixes Luxury with Purpose

Step inside the OPTIQ-V, and it keeps the sporty energy going with Santorini Blue accents, carbon fiber trim, and two interior palette options: Noir with Santorini Blue or Noir and Sky Cool Gray. An optional interior even features Santorini Blue seatbacks and seatbelts.

Interior materials include recycled woven fabric and unique V-Series perforated seating. Look closer and you’ll see monochrome V-Series badging embroidered on the seats and steering wheel, along with themed ambient lighting to match the drive mode.

Tech highlights include:

  • A 19-speaker AKG audio system with Dolby Atmos.
  • Google built-in with Maps and Assistant.
  • Advanced safety features like Blind Zone Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Enhanced Automatic Parking, and more.

A Key Milestone for Charging Simplicity

Cadillac is also making headlines by making the OPTIQ-V the first GM vehicle to offer a native NACS charging port, giving drivers access to a broader, more seamless fast-charging experience across North America.

“Integrating the native NACS port into our vehicle architecture is an important step forward,” said Cockburn, “reflecting our leadership in engineering and our commitment to providing our customers with more charging options.”
