Review: Ben Benson’s Steak House

Ben Benson’s is one of America’s great steakhouses, nationally acclaimed for its superb food, outstanding service, and warm Americana-themed décor. Ben Benson founded the restaurant in 1982 and he continues to supervise every facet of the business.

At Ben Benson’s, the bar and dining room brim with energy as customers (ranging from pro athletes and business executives to celebrities and devoted steak connoisseurs) indulge in succulent prime beef, three to seven pound lobsters, and sought-after wines.

I first discovered Ben Benson’s about 10 years ago, and it was love at first bite! Their filet mignon is just amazing, and their steak sauce is to die for. Every time I’m in the city, I make it a point to stop there for dinner.

As you can see from the picture above, I went with the 12oz Filet Mignon. At $42.50, it’s a little pricey. But trust me, it’s well worth it! I love the steak sauce so much that I bought a bottle to take home with me.

My wife went with the “smaller cut” Chicken Parmigiana, which was only $28.50. I was skeptical about her getting chicken parm at a steakhouse, but it was delicious! I can’t even imagine what the regular portion is like, because the smaller cut was still pretty massive..

It’s easy to drop $150-200 on dinner here if you get a couple of sides, drinks and dessert. But since we only dine here a few times a year, it’s not too bad.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re a steak fanatic!
