What I’m Listening To – 05/23/11

Woman Wearing Headphones

I’ve been putting these new noise cancelling headphones through their paces with random tracks from my iTunes library. So if you’re wondering why there’s no “theme” to my list this week, that’s why.

Gavin DeGraw – Chariot

The music video for “Chariot” was directed by Zach Braff, stars the super-sexy Jaime King, and features a brief cameo from Donald Faison (Turk aka Brown Bear from Scrubs). The single (which came out in 2005) went Platinum, but it never received the recognition it deserved. It’s believed the song addresses the overwhelming feeling Gavin felt when he moved to New York from his rural hometown. In the song, he is supposedly pleading for a chariot to come and take him home.

Lloyd Banks – On Fire

G-G-G-G-Unit! I love all of the comments on YouTube for this video, people faked out by the video thumbnail.. 🙂

Mark Ronson featuring Daniel Merriweather – Stop Me

I first heard this song during an episode of Nip/Tuck years ago. TONS of people bitched about how The Smith’s version was better. Sorry, but there’s just something eerie about Mark Ronson’s version that creeps me out and captivates me at the same time..

Ghostface Killah, Nate Dogg & Mark Ronson – Ooh Wee

“Harold and Kumar” made this song real popular, but I first heard it on the Honey soundtrack back in ’03. If you haven’t heard it before, be sure to give it a listen, it’s a sick track!
