I was going through my old CD collection, and found a few gems that deserved another listen. Hope you like ’em!
Poe – Angry Johnny
It was 1996. I was at a Seven Mary Three concert at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, and this gorgeous blonde came on stage. Her music was something else, and I was instantly hooked! Unfortunately, Poe hasn’t done much in the past 10 years, though there are rumors that she’s currently working on a 3rd album. Here’s hoping!
Beck – Devil’s Haircut
Most people know Beck because of his commercial hit “Loser”, but if that’s all you’ve heard from him, you’re really missing out! He’s made a few detours along the way, but Beck’s put out solid work for the most part. Some of my favorites tracks include “Sexx Laws” and “E-Pro”.
I saw him in concert at the TLA in the mid-90s for $6. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, and Beck was dressed as a sailor!
Silverchair – Tomorrow
Here’s another CD that I played non-stop in the mid-90s.. Silverchair was a popular fixture in the Grunge music scene, and this song shows you why. I listened to some of their later work, but none of it really compared to this album. Too bad..
That’s all for now.. If you’ve got any tunes that you think I’d like, send me an e-mail!
