Live True - Mark Bustos

Dewar’s Live True series highlights influential members of the community whom they feel truly embody the “Live True” spirit. “Live True” – Mark Bustos introduces us to Mark Bustos, an inspirational young man from New York who’s created quite a buzz recently due to his charitable acts.

You see, every Sunday, Mark takes to the streets with his clippers and gives free haircuts to the homeless. With this simple act of kindness, he’s captured the imaginations of thousands, hopefully inspiring them to “Live True” themselves and do good unto others. His motto is simple: “Be awesome to somebody.”

It’s hard not to be moved when you hear some of the stories he tells, like the quiet person who was inspired to get a job after seeing his newly cut hair. Empowering stories like that make it all worthwhile for Mark, and honestly it’s inspired me to want to do more good myself.

Make sure you take a few minutes and watch the video above, as it’s easy to forget the impact that a simple gesture can make, and it’s good to be reminded of it from time to time. You can also check out some of the other videos that are part of the “Live True” campaign, as they are equally powerful in their own ways.

The Dewar’s Live True series was inspired by the nearly 170 year heritage and history of this quality scotch company. Live True represents the goals, aspirations and lives of authentic people who live according to their own convictions, principles and passions.
