Kohler Numi intelligent toilet

One of the most interesting products we came across at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was the Kohler Numi, an “intelligent toilet” that brings the traditional toilet into the 21st century, with a bevy of innovative features to elevate your bathroom experience.. Including voice control.

“Alexa, flush the toilet!”

Pretty wild, right? The Numi features ambient colored lighting, speakers with wireless streaming capability, a heated seat, a foot warmer, and more – All which can be controlled through the new KOHLER Konnect app, voice command, touchscreen remote, or motion.

But that’s not all. The Numi includes a bidet with adjustable water temperature, pressure and spray. And once you’re finished up, enjoy a warm-air dryer. As you walk away, the toilet flushes automatically and closes the lid, without you having to touch any dirty surfaces. Isn’t technology grand?

“Voice services and connected devices have become integrated into every facet of the home—with the notable exception of the bathroom,” Kohler president/CEO David Kohler said in a statement. “Until now.”

Yes, the whole concept of a “smart toilet” may seem a little out there at first. But homes are getting smarter, and there’s no reason why the bathroom should be left out. Personally, I love the idea of telling my toilet that I’m coming in for a #2 on a cold day, and sit down to a warm seat and my favorite tunes streaming..

Of course, this state-of-the-art toilet doesn’t come cheap, with pricing expected to come in at around $6,300 when it’s released this Fall. We say it’s well worth it, as it’s something you’ll enjoy day in and day out. Once you experience the magic of the Numi for yourself, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.
