Will Ferrell Nails A Cheerleader In The Face With A Basketball

Published

on

Actor Will Ferrell hit a cheerleader in the face with a basketball and was then dragged out of the arena by security during Wednesday night’s Pelicans-Lakers game. But don’t expect him to face any charges, as the “incident” was staged as part of a film shoot that took place during halftime at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

As you can see in the video above, the bit involves Ferrell attempting a half-court shot. But instead of aiming for the basket, he fires the ball directly into the face of one of the cheerleaders.

The scene is for the upcoming film Daddy’s Home, which also stars Mark Wahlberg. According to the IMDB description, “When a divorced guy’s ex-wife re-marries someone way more uptight, he re-enters her life and wreaks havoc.”

Unfortunately, by shooting the scene in such a public place (which resulted in numerous photos and videos hitting social media almost immediately), it won’t come as much of a surprise when the movie comes out. But given the amount of free publicity the movie’s received as a result of this stunt, we’re guessing it was a good move on their part.
