Check Out The Violent and Bloody ‘Mortal Kombat’ Trailer

Published

Anyone who played Mortal Kombat growing up knows what a crazy, violent game it was, with these epic fatalities when you beat your opponent to add insult to injury. My favorite of these had to be Sub-Zero’s spine rip. Gnarly stuff, especially for a 13-year old.

Now, the blockbuster video game franchise is coming to life on the big screen, and as you can see in the official red band trailer above, it’s just as violent and bloody as the video game that it’s based on. Seriously, just wait till you see the bloody fatality that Sub-Zero does, it’s insane!

Mortal Kombat features Cole Young, an MMA fighter who’s accustomed to taking a beating for money. But he’s unaware of his heritage, or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for the safety of his family, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with.

Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano here, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat hits theaters on April 16, 2021, and since it’s a Warner Bros. release, it will also be available to stream on HBO Max the same day. I’d love to watch this on the big screen in all it’s glory, but I’ll probably end up watching it at home on HBO Max because of the ‘Rona.

Congrats to everyone involved in bringing this movie to life, as it looks like a flawless victory!

Trent Carter is looking to keep the tradition of T&A alive and well in today's politically correct world with his popular Thong Battle features, among other things. He also covers even racier topics on our sister site, which is definitely not safe for work!
