First Look: The All-New 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai’s been batting a thousand over the past few years.. Many automakers struggled in light of the depressed economy, but Hyundai didn’t let it get them down. They put out great looking cars, coupled with an ingenious “Hyundai Assurance” program to give buyers piece of mind if they lost their jobs. It was truly a game changer for Hyundai!

The Genesis, Sonata, Tucson, and Elantra are all great looking cars. But there was one car in Hyundai’s lineup that just didn’t look right, the Hyundai Santa Fe.

But that’s about to change. The third-generation Santa Fe is slated to debut at the New York Auto Show next month, and as you can see from these pictures, it’s a much sleeker and sexier looking SUV than the model it replaces. A lot of the styling cues of the Tucson carry over to the new Santa Fe, and that’s a good thing.

The current Santa Fe offers a choice of a 175-hp, 2.4-liter four or a 276-hp, 3.5-liter V-6. Expect power to improve over those levels. There’s a good chance the V-6 will be replaced by the company’s 3.3-liter unit or a 2.0-liter turbo four. The new Santa Fe likely will go on sale later this year as a 2013 model.
