Last year, Under Armour changed the game with their HOVR proprietary cushioning platform, introducing it first in their running shoes and later expanding to other categories. Now, Under Armour has expanded HOVR to the training category with the UA HOVR Apex.
UA HOVR is engineered to provide the ideal combination of responsive cushioning and energy return, all without compromise. This training shoe takes athletes’ favorite foam technology & creates a versatile performance training variant designed to make every rep of your workout explosive. They deliver comfort, stability and flexibility in the gym whether lifting or running.
The HOVR Apex’s durable, layered support system locks in for springy takeoffs, stabilizes the heel and provides lateral control, and guides to a softer landing. The upper is built with layers of support, functionally mapped and guided to the parts of the foot that need them most. UA TriBase technology is also incorporated into the outsole to maximize ground control while still allowing foot flexibility, creating enough heel stabilization for correct toe movement.
The result? An amazing trainer that provides that ‘zero gravity feel’ to maintain energy return that helps eliminate impact step after step, and perfect for workouts in the gym, lighter runs, classes, and support comfort on a daily basis. I’ve been wearing these bad boys in the gym for the past few weeks, and I can definitely feel the difference in my workouts.
In addition, they look pretty damn sweet, with a bold Halo Gray colorway that’s sure to attract attention from others. If that’s a little too loud for you, they also offer them in grey and black colorways that are much more subdued. They’re available in men’s and women’s sizes, retail for $140.00, and can be purchased on UA.com or at select retailers.
All in all, there’s a lot to like about the new UA HOVR Apex, and I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for a versatile performance trainer.
