Top 6 Coolest Pools In The World

Published

on

There are few things more enjoyable than grabbing a beer and relaxing poolside on a sunny day. Whether you’re raging with your best friends or spending some time with your girl, a pool immediately makes a house, apartment or hotel an ideal spot for partying and good times.

While a basic pool is more than enough to get the party started, just imagine how awesome it would be to lounge in the pools below all day and night. As winter sets in, we long for the summer time and take a look at the six pools that truly define what a cool pool is:

1. St. Regis Gold Energy Pool – Lhasa, Tibet

Now this is a pool that probably deserves the word bling in its name. Swimming in these golden waters will likely have you feeling like you’re in Shangri-La, especially since the therapeutic salt water is constantly heated to 82-89 degrees Fahrenheit. Located in the remote western peaks of China, this pool is the only one in the world tiled with real gold. It’s worthy even for a king.

2. San Alfonso del Mar Seawater Pool – Chile

If size is more your thing, why not go for the biggest pool in the world? The San Alfonso del Mar Seawater Pool is 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) long and spans across 20 acres. Swimming through its 66 million gallons of water makes it big enough for any entourage.

3. The Rooftop at The Standard – Downtown LA

Whereas St. Regis and San Alfonso require an exotic getaway, The Rooftop at The Standard in LA is right here in the U.S. The hotel offers a rooftop pool with stunning panoramic views. In addition to the sleek, heated swimming pool, the rooftop features a dance floor with nightly DJs, an outdoor fireplace, waterbed pods and – of course – a bar and biergarten.

4. Marina Bay Sands Hotel – Singapore

A pool and a great skyline seem to go hand-in-hand. Marina Bay Sands Hotel’s infinity rooftop pool is the perfect example of this. Located on the hotel’s 57th floor, guests can swim and relax while enjoying the beautiful and modernistic Singapore skyline.

5. Hard Rock Hotel Pool – Las Vegas

If you’re looking for a pool party that’s crowded and energetic, look no further than the Hard Rock Hotel Pool in Vegas. It’s almost always swamped, but there are few places that will get you into the partying spirit more quickly. Between winning big at the casino and dining on Vegas’s best, stop in for a party-infused dip at the Hard Rock Hotel.

6. Sixty LES – NYC

Maybe you’re looking to impress an artsy girl. If so, consider taking her to this artistic creation of a pool at stylish hotel Sixty LES in NYC. The outdoor pool includes photos of Andy Warhol floating below swimmers. Although you sort of have to dig Andy Warhol to enjoy it, there’s no doubt that some acquaintances will love the charm and originality.

Build Your Own

Ok, chances are you’re not going to have an infinity pool on top of a skyscraper. But you can still give your own pool an update to make it awesome. Follow in the footsteps of #6 and put a mural at the bottom or sides. Add a waterfall or fountain to give it a cool look. Or you can add a custom pool enclosure like these ones. Throw in some LED lighting and you can party all night, even in the winter.

From the biggest pool in the world to one featuring Singapore’s sweeping skyline views or daytime partying in Vegas, the six pools above embody all that is great about pools serving as one of the most foolproof partying and lounging settings.
