Inspired by Derrick Rose’s hometown neighborhood area code, the adidas Rose 773 comes in the eleven team colorways and features the 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player’s signature and elements from his previous signature shoes. The shoe features a top down satellite view of his Englewood roots and represents a view from high above. The aerodynamic SPRINTWEB toe provides lightweight stability for improved overall support while the breathable web layout keeps the shoe light and the foot cool.
Taking inspiration from the adizero Rose 2.5, Rose 773 features the same outsole construction and triangular memory foam collar to provide lockdown and comfort on the court. The shoe features a premium SPRINTFRAME execution to reduce weight, add support and allow maximum motion control. Signature details include “ROSE” on the tongue, number 1 on the toe box and Derrick’s signature on the heel. The three stripes branding on the back of the shoe represents Derrick’s speed on the court.
Looks like it’s time for me to retire my Fly Wade’s and pick up a pair of SkyBlue Rose 773’s!
How To Choose The Best Formal Shoes
They say that shoes can make a man. And with the right pair, anything is possible. In fact, of all the items in a man’s wardrobe, shoes are the single most important element of style.. yet it’s often the most overlooked.
Now I’ll admit, in my earlier years, I too was guilty of this. When I had my first job interview, I bought a pair of black dress shoes from a local department store, and anytime I had a formal event to go to (work, interviews, weddings, funerals, first dates, etc), I’d throw them on and be on my way.
But here’s the thing. When it comes to formal shoes, you get what you pay for. So spend the extra money for some well-made shoes made with real leather, sturdy stitching and solid soles, as you will definitely get your money’s worth out of them over time. Italian shoes are made to last: Canali’s formal shoes are known for their great craftsmanship and high quality. I’ll share some tips with you in a moment, but first let me tell you one other reason why you should opt for this kind of shoes.
Trust me when I tell you that women will take notice of your shoes. I’ll never forget this job interview I had a few years back. I had dressed to impress, with a freshly pressed suit, starched shirt, a bold tie, and a nice watch, along with my brand new, very nice, somewhat expensive shoes. The very first thing the interviewer said to me as I walked into her office was “nice shoes”.
When it comes to dress shoes, there are numerous styles to choose from (Oxfords, Derby shoes, loafers and monk straps), and depending on the occasion, some will be more suitable than others. Not sure which one to go with? We’re here with some suggestions to help you out.
You can never go wrong with a pair of classic black leather Oxfords (plain toe or cap toe), which can be worn for the most formal of events (black tie, weddings, funerals and job interviews). They’re sleek, simplistic, and should be a staple of any man’s closet.
If you are looking for something that’s not quite as formal, the Derby shoe is a solid choice, with open lacing that allows for a wider fit than an Oxford. One of my favorite looks is a brown leather Derby brogue (with decorative perforations along the seams of the shoe) with a pair of jeans or chinos and a sharp shirt.
Loafers and monk straps are nice options when you’re dressing up in the summer months, going well with a lightweight linen suit or a button-down shirt and chinos. Socks are of course optional.
Hopefully this post helps you understand the differences between the various options available, so you can look your best at any event, interview, meeting, or date that requires a formal shoe.
They Look Like Stylish Dress Shoes, But They’re Actually Sneakers In Disguise
Back when I worked in the corporate world, I had to wear dress shoes everyday, and I freaking hated it! But I liked getting a steady paycheck, so I conformed to the dress code like a good worker bee, despite the pain they caused my poor feet. If only NobleSole had been around then.
NobleSole is a shoe company that makes luxurious leather sneakers. Yes, those may look like regular dress shoes, but they’re really sneakers in disguise, blurring the lines between convention and expression in order to create comfortable yet versatile shoes that can be worn for both business and pleasure.
Talk about a genius idea!
As you can see in these photos, NobleSole’s ingenuous shoes pair a traditional leather upper with a sneaker-like sole that’s way more comfortable than the rigid, uncomfortable sole that you typically find on a traditional dress shoe.
When I’m traveling for work, I need to travel with two pairs of shoes – A comfortable pair of sneakers to wear to the airport, and a separate pair of dress shoes packed in my roller bag for meetings and such. It’s a huge pain, and it takes up a ton of space in my suitcase. With these dress shoe sneakers, I can wear a single pair for my entire trip, freeing up some much-needed room in my suitcase!
Dressy sneakers that are great looking, multi-purpose, super comfortable and of the upmost quality. Who says you can’t mix business and pleasure?
The NobleSole Sneakers come in a variety of styles including Oxford, Wingtip, Loafer, and Monk Strap, with pricing starting at $169. So what do you say? If you’re someone who’s forced to wear dress shoes for work, formal events, or other fancy occasions, you should definitely consider picking up a pair from NobleSole.
Trust me, your feet will be thanking you.

Adidas UltraBOOST All Terrain Keeps You Warm And Dry In Bad Weather
adidas recently introduced their adidas UltraBOOST All Terrain running shoe, which took “the best running sneaker of all-time” and adapted it to handle all weather conditions, so runners could stop making excuses about the weather and embrace the rain, hail, darkness or cold.
The first thing you’ll probably notice about the UltraBOOST All Terrain is the knit, sock-like upper that extends to just above the ankle. While I’m not 100% sold on the aesthetic, it serves a purpose, keeping your ankles warm and preventing water from getting in your shoe.
The All Terrain also features reflective detailing for late-night / early-morning runners, a more rugged, gridlike outsole to provide more traction, and a water-repellent Primeknit upper, so your feet can stay dry regardless of the weather (rain, sleet, snow, etc). There’s even an integrated cage for better support.
And of course, we can’t forget about adidas UltraBOOST technology, which delivers ultra-responsive comfort and cushioning that stores and returns energy every time the foot hits the ground. If you haven’t experienced UltraBOOST before, you’re in for a real treat, as it gives you some much-needed bounce.
“The autumnal weather can be unpredictable and as a result it took us longer than usual to develop these products,” said Stephan Schneider of adidas Running. “Extensive testing ensured that each design element offers protection and uncompromised comfort in any condition. We specifically focused on increasing the ankle height in order to protect and create a smoother movement from the leg into the foot with each stride.”
While I wasn’t able to test out the cold-weather claims (as it’s 80+ degrees right now), it sounds like it should keep my feet nice and warm on those frigid mornings when I’m looking for any excuse not to get my run in. And despite my initial concerns about the high cut look, I came to appreciate the extra foot and ankle support it offers. All in all, adidas took their best-selling shoe and gave us a unique variant that’s perfect for runners willing to brave the elements.
So if you’re looking for an energized ride while keeping wet conditions at bay, head over to your local retailer and check out the new UltraBOOST All Terrain for yourself. They are currently available in three colorways (dark burgundy, core black, and grey), with a retail price of $220.
