For two decades, truck guys have been left wanting. Back in 2006, Ram pulled the plug on the legendary SRT10, the fire-breathing, Viper-powered “truck for no reason,” and the segment went quiet. Sure, trucks got faster, bigger, and more loaded with tech, but no one had the guts to go full muscle truck again.. Until now.

Ram just officially unveiled the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee lineup today, and it doesn’t just fill the void left by the SRT10, it obliterates it. We’re talking four variants, three HEMI V-8 engines, and a top-dog SRT model with 777 horsepower that the brand is calling the most powerful, quickest, and fastest V-8-powered production pickup truck ever built. Full stop.

What Is The Rumble Bee, Exactly?

Ram is calling this an entirely new subsegment: the muscle truck. It’s not a work truck with a performance badge slapped on it. The Rumble Bee was engineered from the ground up to handle differently, look meaner, and go faster than anything wearing a truck badge.

The lineup announcement came via a short film hosted by Tim Kuniskis, head of American brands, SRT Performance and North America marketing at Stellantis, who made the mission crystal clear:

“There was a time when pickup trucks were considered work vehicles. Today, Ram has a truck for every customer — from the work-ready Tradesman to full-blown luxury in Tungsten. That kind of range makes it hard to predict the second vehicle for a customer. But, for muscle car owners, data proves it’s a pickup and the connection has been staring us in the face since the era reignited almost two decades ago.”

In other words, Ram knows exactly who this truck is for, guys who already have a Charger, a Challenger, or a Corvette in the garage and need a truck that doesn’t feel like a compromise.

Four Trims, Three HEMI Engines

The Rumble Bee comes in four flavors, each stepping up the intensity:

  • Rumble Bee: The entry point. Powered by the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. It’ll run 0-60 in 6.1 seconds and cover the quarter mile in 14.6 seconds at 93 mph. Available late 2026.
  • Rumble Bee 392: This is where things get serious. Ram is putting the 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V-8 in the Ram 1500 for the very first time, pumping out 470 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. Quarter mile drops to 13.2 seconds at 101 mph.
  • Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack: Everything on the 392, plus upgraded suspension, Brembo six-piston brakes, electronic spool differential, launch control, and a dedicated track driving mode. This one means business on a road course.
  • Rumble Bee SRT: A 777 horsepower beast that rewrites the record books. More on this below.

All four variants share the essentials that make this feel like a muscle truck: a flat-bottom performance steering wheel, a G/T console shifter, aluminum paddle shifters, and a button that disconnects the front axle for true rear-wheel-drive operation.

The 777HP Rumble Bee SRT Is An Absolute Monster

Let’s talk about the headliner. The Rumble Bee SRT is powered by the 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat HEMI V8, the most powerful internal combustion engine ever offered in a production pickup truck. It produces 777 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 680 lb-ft of torque, runs through a heavy-duty TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic, and delivers performance figures that should be impossible for something that can haul lumber:

  • 0-60 mph: 3.4 seconds
  • Quarter mile: 11.6 seconds at 116 mph
  • Top speed: 170 mph (targeted)

For comparison, the old SRT10 “Viper truck” from 2006 ran 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and topped out at 154 mph. The Rumble Bee SRT makes that truck look slow by comparison.

Kuniskis wasn’t shy about the philosophy behind going this hard:

“Somehow, the idea of muscle trucks was labeled unnecessary, but since that describes so many products that captivated enthusiasts’ hearts, minds and wallets, Ram is going all-in, pushing for the last 10th with a full-range of Rumble Bee muscle trucks.”

It’s Not Just Fast, It Actually Handles

Here’s what separates the Rumble Bee from a one-trick drag strip pony: Ram’s engineers made serious changes to make this thing handle. The frame was shortened by 13 inches, specifically between the axles, reducing frame flex by 10% and creating an exclusive Quad Cab/short bed combination that’s only 219.5 inches long but a heroic 88 inches wide.

The track width is 6.8 inches wider than a standard Ram 1500 up front, and 7 inches wider in the rear. The 392 and base Rumble Bee use Bilstein monotube performance shocks and beefy stabilizer bars front and rear. The SRT and 392 Track Pack step up to Bilstein Damptronic Sky dual-valve semi-active shocks, which continuously and independently adjust damping for both compression and rebound.

The result? The SRT generates 0.89g of lateral grip, a skid pad improvement of more than 20% over the base Rumble Bee. That’s sports car territory.

Up front on the SRT, you’ve got 16.1-inch Brembo six-piston calipers capable of stopping this truck on a dime. The SRT and Track Pack also feature dedicated launch control – mash the brake, bury the throttle, hit the button, and hang on.

The Looks Match The Attitude

Ram didn’t just drop a new engine in a standard 1500 and call it a day. The Rumble Bee has a completely unique exterior presence, built around those heroic proportions – 88 inches wide, 219.5 inches long – with widebody fenders, body-color flares and bumpers, premium LED lighting, and a front fascia designed around airflow and aggression.

The SRT & 392 Track Pack take it further with a 4.5-inch front splitter, a functional induction hood, an aggressive 80mm rear tailgate spoiler, and 22-by-12-inch wheels wrapped in massive 325/40R22 all-season tires, the widest tire and wheel combination Ram has ever offered on any production vehicle since the Viper.

At 170 mph, the aero package generates 192 pounds of downforce, and brake ducts integrated into the fascia reduce brake temperatures by more than 30%.

The Rumble Bee character itself was redesigned from classic Mopar DNA, with the bee’s look, wings, and color changing with each performance level – culminating in the SRT’s Satin Black and Spitfire Orange version with swept-back wings.

Colors available for the Rumble Bee include Detonator Yellow, Molten Red, and Ceramic Gray, and the SRT previews a unique Blacktop exterior paint package that covers the hood and roof in Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat for a customized look.

The Interior Is All Business (In The Best Way)

Inside, this isn’t your dad’s work truck. The Rumble Bee’s cockpit is muscle car-inspired, with a flat-bottom performance steering wheel, G/T console shifter, and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with exclusive Rumble Bee start-up graphics.

The SRT ups the ante with ultra-premium Natura Plus leather and suede bucket seats, Desert Orange stitching throughout to match the engine’s orange-painted block, Carbon Fiber Deco trim, a suede headliner, metal pedals, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with a 10-inch subwoofer. It’s the first time Ram has ever fit 19 speakers into the Quad Cab body.

Performance Pages let you track real-time 0-60 times, g-force, and engine data, all which can be downloaded to a USB drive. Launch control, RWD mode, and the electronic spool button are all within reach on a dedicated G/T switch bank to the right of the wheel.

It Can Still Work Like A Truck

And before you ask, yes it can still tow. Despite all the performance hardware, the Rumble Bee boasts up to 8,890 pounds of towing capacity and up to 1,160 pounds of payload. Ram didn’t build a track toy that you have to baby – you can still hook up a trailer on the weekend.

When Can You Get One?

The base Rumble Bee with the 5.7-liter HEMI arrives in late 2026, while the Rumble Bee 392 and Rumble Bee SRT land in the first half of 2027. Pricing details should be released closer to delivery dates.

Ram went dormant on performance trucks for 20 years. Based on everything the 2027 Rumble Bee lineup brings to the table, the wait was definitely worth it!
