One of the most interesting products we came across at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was the Kohler Numi, an “intelligent toilet” that brings the traditional toilet into the 21st century, with a bevy of innovative features to elevate your bathroom experience.. Including voice control.
“Alexa, flush the toilet!”
Pretty wild, right? The Numi features ambient colored lighting, speakers with wireless streaming capability, a heated seat, a foot warmer, and more – All which can be controlled through the new KOHLER Konnect app, voice command, touchscreen remote, or motion.
But that’s not all. The Numi includes a bidet with adjustable water temperature, pressure and spray. And once you’re finished up, enjoy a warm-air dryer. As you walk away, the toilet flushes automatically and closes the lid, without you having to touch any dirty surfaces. Isn’t technology grand?
“Voice services and connected devices have become integrated into every facet of the home—with the notable exception of the bathroom,” Kohler president/CEO David Kohler said in a statement. “Until now.”
Yes, the whole concept of a “smart toilet” may seem a little out there at first. But homes are getting smarter, and there’s no reason why the bathroom should be left out. Personally, I love the idea of telling my toilet that I’m coming in for a #2 on a cold day, and sit down to a warm seat and my favorite tunes streaming..
Of course, this state-of-the-art toilet doesn’t come cheap, with pricing expected to come in at around $6,300 when it’s released this Fall. We say it’s well worth it, as it’s something you’ll enjoy day in and day out. Once you experience the magic of the Numi for yourself, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Get Ready To Make Some Waves With The Mako Slingshot Jetboard
Surfboards are great for some fun in the sun and riding the waves, but that’s just not extreme enough for some of us. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, you want something faster and crazier. Something like the Mako Slingshot. This this is essentially a surfboard with some serious jet power, and it looks like a ton of fun.
Naturally, the Slingshot doesn’t use electricity because water and electricity don’t mix unless you are an electric eel. Instead, it uses jet power, with a fuel-efficient Rotron XT100 100cc 2-stroke engine that produces 15 horsepower. That’s good enough to reach a top speed of 34 miles per hour, and keep this speed up for 40 minutes. Not bad. Not bad at all.
The Slingshot’s tank holds 2.8 liters (0.74 gallons) of fuel, and the engine is fastened to easily accessed mounting points. Apparently, you’re supposed to ride this thing like it is an electric skateboard, controlling the throttle using a remote and pushing a button to start the engine. There’s no revving it up. So it’s easy to use.
Thanks to carbon fiber construction, the Slingshot weighs just 42 pounds and it has a weight limit of 220 pounds. It measures 74 inches long and 23.5 inches wide, so you can easily toss it in the back of your car and take it with you anywhere.
It looks like a lot of fun. You’ll be running circles around all of those people on surfboards. Try not to rub it in their face too hard that your ride is cooler. Obviously, this kind of fun doesn’t come cheap. The Slingshot starts at $9,800 and goes up from there depending on which extras you buy for it.
Star Wars Fans Are Going Crazy Over This Boba Fett Motorcycle Helmet
Despite his limited role in the original Star Wars trilogy, Boba Fett is arguably one of the most popular characters in the franchise, with a cult-like following.
Now, motorcycle riders can pretend that they’re the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy while protecting their head with this RPHA 11 Pro Boba Fett helmet from HJC Helmets.
Get ready to look like a badass as you cruise around town with this sweet helmet strapped to your noggin. You’ll also be comfortable, as this top of the line helmet features everything from a max air-flow top vent to enlarged eye-ports.
It’s also remarkably strong and really lightweight, thanks to a shell made from a combination of carbon fiber, aramid, fiberglass, and organic non-woven fabric.
Of course, quality (and cool) don’t come cheap, with the helmet setting you back around $600. So who’s ready to show off their fandom with this awesome Boba Fett motorcycle helmet?
Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster Is Heading Toward Mars
SpaceX successfully launched their Falcon Heavy rocket yesterday afternoon from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying Elon Musk’s 2008 Tesla Roadster (complete with a dummy driver named Starman wearing a SpaceX spacesuit) towards the orbit of Mars.. or maybe even further.
Why? The much-anticipated launch was to demonstrate that SpaceX’s beefed-up rocket can lift heavier craft into space for future missions to the moon and Mars. Most new rockets usually contain mass simulators in the form of concrete or steel blocks. But that “seemed extremely boring” to the eccentric billionaire, instead sending his original Tesla Roadster on a billion year elliptic Mars orbit.
As you can see in the photo, the infotainment screen says “DON’T PANIC”, an Easter egg to all those who’ve heard or read Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Musk believes the Roadster might be cruising in space, “for several hundred million years, maybe in excess of a billion,” but some experts believe radiation has the potential to disintegrate the Tesla Roadster within a year or two.. you know, assuming it doesn’t collide with an asteroid before then.
Either way, Musk comes out on top, as this little PR stunt of his has garnered SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy launch enormous amounts of coverage, as well as getting young people excited about space travel.
