After spending the past year trapped at home, many of us are eager to get out there and start traveling once again. Now while you could hop on a plane and jet off to your favorite location in a few hours, Amtrak has a more interesting option, touring the country aboard their trains, where the journey is part of the experience.

With Amtrak’s USA Rail Pass, you can take up to 10 rides within 30-days to travel all across the country and explore sights at many of Amtrak’s 500 destinations. Normally, this pass sells for $499 (which is still a great deal), but from now through June 22nd, you can get it for just $299. That’s a savings of $200, with customers paying an average of $30 a trip!

So here’s how it works: Once you buy the pass, you have 120 days to book your first trip. After that first trip, the 30-day limit kicks in, so you’ll have to book the next nine segments quickly. I’ve always wanted to travel by train, but given the fast-paced nature of life, I’ve always flown.

But now with things a bit more relaxed these days, I’m thinking a trip by train might be just the ticket. And since I’m still “working from home” right now, I could theoretically turn the train into my virtual office, and no one would be the wiser. 🙂

“We want to offer customers a truly unique way to travel this summer,” said Amtrak Executive VP and Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Roger Harris. “With the new electronic USA Rail Pass, customers can take advantage of a great value and newly streamlined web and mobile app interfaces to make managing personalized travel plans convenient and easy.”

There are 500 destinations available with the pass, and you can check out the routes online to start planning your journey. USA Rail Pass is available for travel in Coach class — featuring wide, reclining seats with a big picture window, ample legroom, and no middle seat. A travel segment occurs when a customer boards and disembarks one of Amtrak’s scheduled services. If the trip involves making a connection, customers will use two segments of the USA Rail Pass.

Don’t wait too long to take advantage of this deal, as the $299 sale ends on June 22nd. 🚆
