I am tired of zombies. The stumbling, bumbling creatures have taken over the popular culture and crammed into nearly every single video game being made.
As far as I was concerned, I could never see another Zombie game and I would be happy. Then along came Deadlings.
Deadlings is a puzzle game in the vein of the classic Lemmings franchise, but it adds a huge portion of aggressive platforming to the mix. Each level starts with a strategic overview menu that lets you see the total layout of the area, complete with goal areas and deadly traps. Once you figure out a strategy, you choose a zombie and hit go. You are then thick into a platformer that is on par with some of the best in the mobile space. Jumps are tricky, the levels are packed with dangerous traps that will kill you, and there is a full collection of multiple zombie types with different moves and strategies.
To make the game even more appealing, the whole story is conveyed via well designed and animated cartoon cutscenes with plenty of humor and style.
Look for Deadlings to hit iOS and Android in the coming weeks.
Deadlings was previewed on iOS using beta code provided by the developer.
